The Corporate Responsibility Coalition (CORE) represents over 130 charities and campaigning organisations. We believe that corporate accountability will become a reality only when new laws are enacted that make sure companies do not profit at the expense of people and planet.

Friends of the Earth works with the Corporate Responsibility Coalition to achieve these aims.

The Companies Act 2006

The Companies Bill has concluded its passage through Parliament and has now become law (as the Companies Act 2006) having received Royal Assent (approval by the Queen) on 8 November.Thanks to your campaigning, we have been able to achieve some important improvements to company law.The UK Government has recognised that companies need to be made more accountable and an important first step towards greater corporate accountability has been taken. This is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the power of campaigning by members of Stockport Friends of the Earth and people like you. There is still a long way to go, but we have made a good start.
