Visited the site of the proposed new Hydro scheme at Otterspool.

7.30pm Stockport Friends Meeting House, Cooper Street, which is off the A6 at the junction with Longshut Lane.

Steve Welsh from Waterpower Enterprises gave a presentation and answered queries about the scheme to have a community renewable energy project on our doorstep.

Erik Assadourian from the US-based environmental think tank Worldwatch Institute and Caroline Downey from MERCI discussed the importance of rethinking the very foundations of modern consumerism, rather than just relying on technological fixes.
