This year's Local Group Conference is at the University of Reading.

Staff and activists will share together in successes and challenges on local campaigns and on the nationwide priority campaigns.   More info and booking

Saturday 24th July - Stockport Carnival

Despite one or two teething problems, Stockport Friends of the Earth were able to deploy their replacement Gazebo at this event in Woodbank Park, Stockport.

Saturday 10th July - Hazel Grove Carnival

Stockport Friends of the Earth ran a fair weather stall at this event. Thanks to Janet, Faye, Kate and Joan and everyone who visited our stall to support our Get Serious campaign.

Sunday 4th July - Gatley Festival Carnival and Fun Day

Unfortunately our gazebo collapsed in the strong winds, so not one of our best days!

Please contact Kate if you have a gazebo of similar design (see below) and can loan or donate poles 2 and 3.

This was the fifth year running that Stockport Friends of the Earth has run a stall at this event.

Thanks to Sally, Janet, Kate, Chris, Hasan, Phoebe and Keith for helping on the stall, with a big thank you to everyone who visited our stall to support our Get Serious campaign which is calling on Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council to:

• Commit to cutting emissions in their area by at least 40 percent by 2020
• Produce an action plan showing how they'll make the cuts. We're calling on our Council to have a local carbon budget - that's a budget limiting the carbon our area can emit.

Saturday 12th June - Marple Energy Saving Strategy Launch

Andrew Stunell MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, Department for Communities and Local Government finding time in his busy schedule to support MESS and Stockport Friends of the Earth's campaigns.

Saturday 5th June - Stockport Environment Fair

Held on World Environment Day which is all about taking action - everyone can play their part by using less and acting more. Going green isn't as difficult as you thought.
