Stockport Friends of the Earth thinks it would be a good thing if Stockport Council resolved to join the growing list of Local Authorities that oppose Genetically Modified crops in their area.

Stockport Council Meeting 9th November 2006

60 local authorities in the UK, representing a population of 18.5m people, have passed resolutions opposing the cultivation of Genetically Modified crops in their areas.

Stockport is not one these.

Will Stockport Council also resolve to ban Genetically Modified crops?

This was what Kate asked at Public Question time. Councillor Walsh was most supportive. The Leader of the Council, Councillor Millard said the Council would consider it.
